"I did not come to bring peace...but division."

"Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three.They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law." - Luke 12:51-53

I have been thinking about this passage a lot lately. I guess the reality that , no matter how much peace my relationship with Christ brings to my life, the cross of Christ also brings division. Its hard to accept that there are people who we love that we cannot have unity with because of the boundaries that we are called to set for ourselves and our families. It is painful, yet so worth it. He is worthy, so I will carry this cross. I will sacrifice these things/relationships that I wish to hold dear, because He sacrificed ALL for me. Not without pain, but with overwhelming peace!! If only everyone could know this peace!!!
