I just got back from a weekend with the Russo Cousins. Fifteen of us met up at South Taledo Bend State Park and just had some good old fashioned fun (board games, cards, swimming, canoeing, and lots of eating)!!! The first night we were there we had what we called "Family Share Time" and we all went around the room and shared what we are doing with our lives. It was great to hear what everyone is up to...things I should know, but we just don't keep in touch the way we should.

On Saturday we were swimming at the beach on the lake and we experienced a tragedy that I think changed all of our lives forever. A young boy went missing and his dad let us know he was worried and asked us to help him look for him. Some of my cousins looked through the woods in the area for him and most of us looked in the water. About ten minutes after the dad noticed he was missing, Mario (Jennifer's husband) found the 7 year old in the water. Benj immediately started CPR and continued for the next 45 minutes until the ambulance arrived, but it was too late and he did not survive. I don't think any of us had experienced anything like that before. After many tears and questions, it all comes back to "God is in control and He is good." We'll never understand why things like this happen, but we will continue to give Him the glory.
