Last night the youth group went did outreach instead of having teaching time in small groups. That means a break for me, since I teach a small group every Wednesday night (usually). I went with a group of about 20 students to Morningside Ministries to play bingo. Turns out the students outnumbered the elderly by at least 3 to 1. A couple of the sophmore guys and I ended up playing scrabble with a couple of ladies and I learned a lot. I learned that "jo" is a word meaning sweetheart, and that "et" is the past tense of eat ("have ya'll et yet?")...I also learned that only an hour of my time could mean the world to one lonely brother or sister in Christ. I think I will go back to play scrabble sometime on Sundays (thats when they play for real)...I can probably still learn plenty about scrabble and about life.
